Gurian cuisine is known for its poultry and vegetable meals as well as traditional corn bread – Mchadi. Gurians usually cook Mchadi and fish on a clay pan. The pan must be covered with vine and walnut leaves as they make food taste extraordinary. Their major dressing for meals are walnut and hazelnut. Who doesn't know Gurian pie? – a crescent form Khachapuri with a boiled halved egg in it. Gurians traditional dessert is Janjukha – a specific Churchkhela based on hazelnut filling.
