While choosing a creative and unusual approach to cooking, you have probably wondered whether it is possible to color food, for example, your pastries in a new color? Chemical dyes can be unhealthy, but there are natural ways to color food.

For example, beets can be used to make your food pink. Its juice will change the color of the product and at the same time will not affect the taste.

Just wash the beets and put them in a blender by adding 1/2 cup of water. Mix everything until smooth, then strain. The liquid that comes out is your natural food coloring.

Also, to make the dye red, you can use the juice of cherry, pomegranate and raspberry.


 

To make food coloring orange, pumpkin will be a must. But the easiest way to get the orange color is to use carrots.

 

Peel the carrots, grate it on a coarse grater and put in a hot pan. Pour in butter and fry over low heat. Then let the carrots cool and strain through cheesecloth. Also, carrot juice can be used as a dye.

If you have ever used turmeric, then you know that it turns everything that gets on it yellow: clothes, leather, tables, etc. Therefore, be careful when making this dye.

Mix 1/2 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric in a saucepan, and then boil. Allow to cool. Store such  dye no more than two weeks in the refrigerator.


 

Spinach creates a beautiful green color, which is ideal for decorating dishes.

 

Combine 1/2 cup fresh spinach and 1/2 cup water in a blender. Mix to a uniform consistency, then strain. The resulting liquid is a natural green food coloring.


 

The most difficult is blue. It can be obtained using the peel of eggplant, or red wine. Blueberries also make great natural purple food coloring.

 

Combine 1/4 cup fresh blueberries with 1/8 cup water in a blender. Mix until smooth, then strain and get a natural food color purple.
