Mulled wine

Glintwine is a favorite beverage of all skiers. It's most likely originating from Austria or Germany, but in any ski resort, where it's very cold people are happy to have a delicious hot wine.

If you are fond of skiing and have spent at least a season in Gudauri or Bakuriani you would notice that the local cafes daily prepare loads of liters of mulled wine.

It’s not very strange that the mulled wine is a winter beverage. The hot alcohol travels down the whole your body like a shiver and warms you up in a second – that's why skiers love it so much.

If you decide to prepare it at home, you'll need the following ingredients:

750ml red wine
60g sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
3 cloves

1 orange

1/4 lemon
5 pieces of fragrant pepper

How to prepare it:

Pour some wine in a pot and place on a low fire. Cut oranges and lemons with their skins and throw the pieces into the pot. Add sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and fragrant pepper. The main secret of mulled wine is at its boiling temperature. You have to heat it without bubbling.

And of course, you have to have it hot and enjoy the mood that the aromatic mulled wine will bring.
